East China’s Jiangsu province stepped up the construction of major investment projects during the Labor Day holiday to ensure smooth progress through every possible effort so as to fulfill goals for social and economic development.

Hundreds of workers were working overtime in the Huai"an Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park of Liandong U Valley, amidst the roar of excavators and grouting machines.

“In order to accelerate the construction progress, more than 600 construction workers worked overtime during the May Day holiday with more than 10 cranes and 20 various types of machinery working in full gears,” said Chen Changbai, Project Manager of Huai"an Intelligent Manufacturing Innovation Port in Liandong U Valley.

The 2-billion-yuan industrial park started construction in August last year and will become a carrier platform for Huai"an to accelerate the development of leading industries in intelligent manufacturing, electronic information, and automotive components.

At the South Square of Jurong Station on the Shanghai-Nanjing-Yangtze River High Speed Railway, workers were busy paving the road surface of the square.

During the May Day holiday, workers worked overtime to promote the construction of the Nantong Bailong Lake resettlement housing project that has 280000 square meters of floor space to provide 1374 apartment units.

“The weather is relatively good during the May Day holiday, and everyone is working overtime to strive for early completion during this period,” said Guan Baodong, Manager of Construction Site.
